The Update Metadata tool in SAS^® Management Console 9.4_M6 or in SAS^® Data Integration Studio 4.904 returns an incorrect error message similar to the following when table metadata already matches the data source:

If you click Yes to view details after the step runs, you see the SAS log for the METALIB procedure. The log provides the following clarification that the table metadata matched the data source, and therefore no update was required:
